Titus International surf camp June 16- June 19 2008

For a few years now, I've tried to get Ani into a surf camp. Once, it was incentive to bring her grades up, (her grades obviously did not go up, or this blog would not be here at this very moment!) another time..I just didn't see one that I trusted w/ my babygirl.. Or I didn't like the price and wasn't feeling it w/ the organization..OR Ani was w/ her dad in MO for the summer and got back late so we didn't have much time to get reorganized before school started OR the price was outrageous for surf camp...Then, God blessed me w/ a summer with my Girl and led me to look on Walking on Water (for children's ministry at church..we needed some cool surf videos..) I emailed Christian Surfers and they told me about Titus International and their surf camp: SWEET!!

So, I signed her up for the early session: 8a - 11a...I figured I'd get some sun and swimming in, maybe even a little studying and then back to work we go...Au contraire, mon frère When we got home, neither of us could keep our eyes open for very long after lunch time! I would sit at my desk and my eyes would shut! The secret was not to shower until after all was said and done. I made that mistake the second day..

Aside from that, Matt and Troy were da bomb at teaching their Star Surf Camper, Lani how to surf. I say "Star" because she was their only kid the first 2 days of Camp. Camp was only 4 days long! If not for a vacationing family, she would have been it the entire week! So, by the 4th day there were 3 of them! However, it's only by God's sheer wisdom, love for Ani and me, and His just wanting to bless us, did He make it so Ani had the time of her life. She had a smile that stayed on her face for the entire 4 days!

Troy put it best when he said it probably boost her confidence level to be on that surf board the very first day, and that is mostly thanks to the individualized attention! God is good all the time!!

So, here she is, just having a blast!! What an awesome summer already!!

Colonial Williamsburg

Whew! Colonial Williamsburg was fun..we missed seeing the capitol building here, too. I just noticed we have a pattern going on! Hmmm....

Anyways, got to eventually meet up w/ my myspace friend and awesome photog w/ her family in Williamsburg. So fun! I even got to cuddle w/ her newest little girl, what a sweetie pie!! Enjoy the pics!!

Washington DC May 31 - June 1 2008

I took....932 pictures in DC! Oh my gracious..

We saw...alot and walked all over to see them, too! We stayed over by the Capitol building around the corner from the Air and Space museum..we ended up walking all the way to the Washington Monument, to Lincoln Memorial, caught the tour bus-whew! Saw a few sites, checked into the hotel, had lunch when it started to pour..Walked lunch off lunch by going to the Capitol only to figure out the tours were all done..woops..Maybe we shouldn't have spent so much time at the National Botanical Gardens...We caught the tour bus to the Natural Museum (Hope Diamond, Baby!) and walked to the White House then all the way to the Jefferson Memorial- WHEW!

The next day, we took the tour bus on the full ride around DC and then went to a Philippine festival (ok, we went to eat lunch, really) then we walked all the way to the Holocaust Museum..My gosh, we still have more to see and we have to leave it for another time! Dang it!

Enjoy!!
